I would like you to have a think about how one obtains information (or data) in support of one’s research aims. This is important as it touches on two related areas of significance to research, viz, what methods we choose to use and, secondly, the ethical implications of adopting those methods. 

So, the question this week is:

                               “In social research, do the ends ever justify the means; can you think of any examples to illustrate that they should not or, alternatively, that they should?”

I hope that in thinking about this you will bear in mind your own research project proposal so this question should assist you in your own decision making about what you are proposing for your research and how you are thinking of tackling it.
