Initial Post Instructions
This discussion has three parts.
1. Read the following in your textbook: “Trifles” by Susan Glaspell (pp. 294-303). How well does this essay meet the following criteria: “Identify a Problem and Demonstrate That It Exists,” “Appeal to Your Audience,” “State Your Claim,” and “Propose One or More Solutions to the Problem”? (Russell, 2016, p. 283). Explain your answers with specific examples.
2. What problem and solution scenarios have you encountered in your education, work, training, or life in the past? How were the problems and solutions conveyed to you or your colleagues? Do you think the issues were clear and the solutions covered thoroughly? Why or why not? What problem and solution situations do you expect to encounter in your future career?
3. Using your Week 5 extended outline as a guide, choose one of the main points from the outline and write it as one complete, rich, full body paragraph for your cause and effect essay. Do not use the introduction paragraph or conclusion paragraph you wrote last week. Instead, write one of your full body paragraphs that you outlined last week. Then, address the following:
o What additional details might you add to this paragraph to make it more appealing and clearer to your reader?
o Identify the logic in this point. Does it hold up to scrutiny, or may you be falling prey to a logical fallacy?
