Content Evaluation Criteria

Abstract: Between 550 and 600 words

? Include the project title, project director?s name, and affiliation.
? Present a complete, concise overview of all phases of the proposed project.

Section A: Problem Identification

? Identify a work-setting problem.

o Describe a problem or issue that needs a solution.
o Provide support that the problem or issue is an important one to solve.
o State a project objective that is specific, realistic, and measurable.
o Describe briefly the proposed solution and the way in which it will solve the problem or issue.

Section B: Solution Description

? Develop a description of the proposed solution.

o Describe the proposed solution.
o Describe the way(s) in which the proposed solution is consistent with current research knowledge.
o Discuss the feasibility of implementing the proposed solution in the work setting.
o Discuss the way(s) in which the proposed solution is consistent with organization or community culture and resources.

Section C: Research Support

? Develop a research base for the proposed solution that is sufficient to support its use.

o Provide a sufficient and compelling research base for the proposed solution.
o Summarize all research reports used in a concise manner and provide acceptable internal and external validity.
o Describe the essential components of each study so readers can evaluate its scientific merit.

Section D: Implementation Plan

? Describe the methods to be used to implement the proposed solution.

o Describe the overall plan for implementing the proposed solution.
o Identify resources needed of the proposed solution?s implementation.
o Describe the methods for monitoring solution implementation.
o Describe the way(s) in which a theory of planned change was used to develop the implementation plan.
o Discuss the feasibility of the implementation plan.

Section E: Evaluation Plan

? Describe the methods to be used to evaluate the solution.

Outcome Measure:

o Develop or revise an outcome measure that evaluates the extent to which the project objective is achieved. A copy of the measure must be included in the appendix.

o Describe the ways in which the outcome measure is valid, reliable, sensitive to change, and appropriate for use in this proposed project.

Evaluation Data Collection:

o Describe the methods for collecting outcome measure data and the rationale for using those methods.
o Identify resources needed for evaluation.
o Discuss the feasibility of the evaluation plan.
o Identify two possible grant funding sources and why your proposal would be a good fit for these sources.

Section F: Decision Making

? Describe the methods to be used to decide the future of the solution.

o Discuss methods and specific plans to maintain a successful project solution.
o Discuss methods and specific plans to extend a successful project solution.
o Discuss methods and specific plans to revise an unsuccessful project solution.
o Discuss methods and specific plans to terminate an unsuccessful solution.
o Describe specific plans for feedback in the work setting and for communicating the project and its results to professional groups external to the project.

Format

? Style must be consistent with that expected of a formal project proposal.
? Format must be according to APA guidelines regarding the cover page, margins, text citations, double-spacing, font size, and references page.
? Section headings and numbers must be used for each section of the proposal.
? Grammar, punctuation, and formal word usage must be consistent with graduate-level expectations.
? Project proposal must be within word constraints.
? Project proposal must be spell checked and proofread.
