After you have completed the assigned readings and viewed the assigned videos, write a 500-750 word paper that addresses quantitative methods of inquiry. Use the data provided in the Topic Material, “H Cup State Inpatient Databases (SID) File Composition – Number of Discharges by Year,” and appropriate statistics to address the following:
- Describe the different quantitative methods of inquiry.
- Describe the mean, median, and mode of discharges by state in 2014.
- Compare the number of discharges in 2010, 2012, and 2015 in all states. Are there significantly more discharges in 2015 versus 2010 in all states?

This class will be a challenge in itself and currently at this time, I will pay more attention to passing this course and if I have time, I will like to do at least one of the scholarly activities that my professor suggested for added knowledge.
Deliverables- My mentor have a conference coming up in September at the TNP and his article is very informational and hopefully, I plan on going with him as he presents. I will deliver information about his presentation for practice immersion hours
Remaining Deliverables- Picot statement will be revised and r-submitted for approval on a continuous basis until approved. No other deliverables that I can think of at this time. I will contact Dr. Lane if some other conference or seminar comes up to get approval. This will be submitted through email
Challenges- Staring off late in this class will ultimately have bearings on the rest of the class. I see challenges in getting Picot approved and time management and possible conflicts with my occupation. Grammar is not one of my strongest and I tend to go over in words. Accepting very harsh criticism and using it to become wiser h back pointers on assignment me feeling stress already. If anyone else that I know dies of coronavirus will have a impact on me. I will make a calendar on my phone and laptop and set reminders to capitalize on time and use it more efficiently to meet the demands and assignments of this class. Use library resources and lope write as it is intended. I will also consult with preceptor to read and give me feedback and pointers. Finally, I will make time for relaxation and prayer and loved ones whenever I can
Plan for Practice Experiences- This will be in conjunction with assignments in this class and for any experiences received at work and with my mentor whether it’s through multiple portals as internet, zoom, messenger, skype had evolve as the virtual king in communication and education. I will use every portal to be successful in completing my assignments in this class.
Self-Assessed Domains and Competencies- As state previously I will capitalize on moments to relax, me time and with loved ones to stay grounded rooted and stable even during this pandemic chaos name Covid19. I will effectively manage my time better and become a great writer with less errors. Practice make it better not perfect because nobody is perfect but God.
DPI Project Milestones- Seeing that we really can not work on our DPI project until the magic class comes along, I will still avail myself to look learn as much as possible about diabetes and how to change the trajectory for diabetic patients. My project is on diabetes and how to manage it effectively by controlling your glycemic levels, Behavior modification, diet, exercise and compliancy with health care plan is a must to live longer healthier lives even as a diabetic patient.
Practice Immersion Hours- The minimum required number of practice hours is 50 per class and that is what I plan of receiving by completing my assignments as it is in depth with different research methods that will require a lot of time and organizational skill. These hours will be documented in the Typhon tracking system and in a word, document attesting to hours completed for the assignment. My mentor will sign at the end of class and midterm attesting to hours I have spent on projects, articles, webinars and or virtual or live conferences.
As I gain more knowledge in my quest to obtain I doctoral degree, I pray that I learned something in this class that I will not forget and take a way to help in mentoring others because we need more good role models in professors in order to keep up with the demands and needs of nursing professors and nurses. My contribution to the society will continue and hopefully be etch in a place where I will not be forgotten.
