Teaching Plan Outline
This assignment should be placed in the American Psychological Association (APA) template found in module two, in proper APA format. For hints about writing in the APA style, see the APA Information and Examples document in module 2. There are two portions of this assignment: paragraph form and a teaching plan outline. Each section describes what should be in paragraph form and in the outline.

Introduction (Paragraph form)
Provide four or five general statements about teaching and learning that apply to your topic. Explain why the topic is important. Next, create a purpose. For example, “the purpose of this teaching plan is to educate school children on the importance of proper handwashing. The topic and target audience will be detailed along with barriers to learning. Next, this paper will detail six guidelines for teaching and learning, effective teaching and the assessment of learning needs and learning readiness. Finally, this paper will discuss teaching people of different cultures.” It is fine if you use this purpose statement.

Topic, Audience, & Barriers (Paragraph form)
• Describe what topic you selected and why.
• Include a statistic from at least one reference that supports why this is a teaching priority for your intendedaudience. Provide a reference for the statistic. Remember, paraphrases need an author and year. Quotes need an author, year and page or paragraph number.
• Describe the target audience and why they wereselected.
• Describe at least two barriers to learning from the assigned readings andexplain them with a reference.
Guidelines for Learning & Teaching (Paragraph form)
• Describe at least three guidelines from the assigned readings for learningand teaching. This should be in paragraph form with at least onereference.When you need to reference multiple items in a paragraph, it is a good idea to use a narrative paraphrase. • Then describe how will each be accomplished in the teachingsession.
Effective Teaching & Assessing Learning Needs (Paragraph form)
• Describe in paragraph form at least two characteristics of effective teachingfrom the assignedreadings. When you have multiple items to discuss it is advisable to use a narrative paraphrase. • Describe how each will be accomplished in the teachingsession.
Learning Readiness (Paragraph form)
• Describe how you plan to assess the learning needs of the audience. This information should be referenced from the assigned readings. Why is thisimportant?

Different Cultures (Paragraph form)
• Describe at least three guidelines to consider when teaching individuals from other cultures. This information should come from the assigned readings. Here, it recommended to use a narrative paraphrase, as described above. There should be at least one reference from the assignedreadings.
Learning Objectives: (in table format — see below)
• List at least two expected learner objectives that are based on different domains of learning established by Bloom (cognitive, psychomotor,affective).
Content Outline: (in table format)
• It is not necessary to include all the content you plan to teach — just theoutline with enough details to show pertinent content wasincluded.
• Indicate how many minutes you plan to spend on each major heading (minimum of 15–20 minutes).
Teaching Strategies: (in table format)
• List methodologies or learning activities (at least two differentmethods).
Evaluation Method: (in table format)
• Describe how you will evaluate the effectiveness of the teaching plan (at least twomethods).
• Make sure each ismeasurable.
Conclusion
A good conclusion should stand on its own. In other words, the reader should be able to read the conclusion and have a good idea of what the paper was about.
Reference (has its own page)
Make sure you use scholarly sources (books, peer-reviewed journals, .edu and .gov websites, and professional organizations). See Module Two for examples of how to cite the different sources of references.
