Consider one homeland security threat within the past 5 years related to civil rights. Examples include events related to the following:
an active shooter event,
COVID 19,
distrust in policing,
civil unrest, and
riots in Minneapolis, Seattle, Portland, and other U.S. cities.
Research one threat or event and draft a response that explains the following points.
Describe the threat or event, how it occurred, and the outcome.
Examine the civil rights issues surrounding this event or threat.
Assess the United States’ response. Was it effective? Why, or why not?
Describe how the United States can learn from this incident to mitigate future threats that may be similar.
You may choose to either submit a written assignment or a video that explains the above bullet points.
If you choose the written option:Your written response must be at least two pages in length and include at least two outside sources. One source must be from the CSU Online Library. Include an introduction. All sources used, including the textbook, must be cited and referenced according to APA Style.
