Community In the United States, central line-associated bloodstream infections (CLABSIs) are a significant public health problem. Each year, approximately 250,000 CLABSIs occur in hospitals, resulting in approximately $28 billion in annual healthcare costs. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that CLABSIs can be prevented in up to 70% of cases. Leadership The purpose of this capstone project is to develop and implement a change proposal aimed at preventing central line-associated bloodstream infections (CLABSIs) in a hospital setting. The change proposal will be based on an evidence-based practice (EBP) model and will include a comprehensive literature review, stakeholder analysis, and identification of potential barriers and enablers to successful implementation. The goal of the change proposal is to improve patient safety and reduce healthcare costs associated with CLABSIs.
