Background
It’s easy to think that if we just exercise or eat organic food we’ll be healthy, but as we’ve learned in this module it’s a bit more complicated than that. Many of the determinants of our health and wellness are not within our direct individual control. In this assignment, we’ll remind ourselves of what health and wellness disparities exist and we’ll remind ourselves of how some factors beyond our control may cause those disparities with reference to UNNATURAL CAUSES: Episode 1 – In Sickness and in Wealth.
This assignment mimics, at a very basic level, the sort of intake information that public health officials like Dr. Adewale Troutman (the Director of Public Health & Wellness in Louisville, KY) use to develop the very frameworks and programs that Dr. Troutman discusses.
