Thank you for such an informative presentation on bill H.R. 6087: Improving Access to Workers Comp for Injured Federal Workers Act. When you first wrote about this bill in week 1, I was intrigued to learn more since it appears to benefit nurse practitioners and physician assistants. In my opinion, this is a viable option for ensuring that everyone receives timely and high-quality care. If the injured worker receives timely care, I believe he or she will be able to return to work faster. In addition, the cost of workers’ compensation may be reduced in some instances. As nurse practitioners and physician assistants play a crucial role in the healthcare system, extending their scope of practice to diagnose and treat an injury for purposes of compensating federal workers is beneficial not only for physicians, but also for the entire healthcare system. As always, it has been a pleasure learning with you this semester. See you in a week.
