Population pyramid building
Population Pyramids show the age structure of the population of a country or region. Different growth patterns caused by varying cultural values and societal events help shape the pyramid.
This project consists of two parts:
Generate population pyramids for Turkey, Japan, and Somalia.
These can be generated on a number of different websites, including the ones linked below.
Generate the pyramids, take a screenshot of each one, and copy them to the top of your Word document.
Write an essay comparing and contrasting the three pyramids and interpret the causes of the varying shapes of these graphs.
Things to consider:
historical events and societal characteristics
influences on future population growth
Include predictions of
which country will have the greatest population increase and why.
what problems might these countries be facing and why.
