The Old Globe Theater is a Tony award winning theater in San Diego and has many theatrical activities online. Their series Behind the Curtain contains eight (8) videos about stagecraft behind the scenes. Directions:
Choose two (2) of the Behind the Curtain videos at the link. (Each one should take about an hour of viewing).
Watch both videos in their entirety.
While watching the videos, take notes on each video viewed, and mark any time stamps that are of interest to you.
Write a report about the videos following the directions below.
THE REPORT
The report will be a 4-page (minimum) paper about the videos that you have watched for this project. Please make sure to include the following for each video:
- The name, upload date, topic, and title of each video
The names of the presenter(s) in each video
- A summary of what was discussed in each video; Be specific.
- New information that you learned in each video
Comments about the elements of stage craft demonstrated in the videos.
- Your favorite and least favorite parts of each video with time stamps
Any other comments you wish to make
The goal is to learn from currently working theater professionals about how they experience their craft. Papers should be as detailed as possible.
