You must use the party websites and locate the recent Party Platforms. At the GOP Presidential Convention in August 2020, the delegates agreed not to make any changes to the 2016 GOP platform since there were significantly fewer delegates physically present at the convention due to the COVID-19 pandemic and it would not fully reflect the views of the grassroots supporters. If you are interested in learning more about other minor parties or 3rd parties 2016 platforms, just go online and check their party websites, e.g. Libertarian Party, Green Party, and Reform Party.
After doing your research, you will present your two political parties’ positions stated in the 2016 party platform to your classmates at the Discussion Forum, “The Monocle.” Please include in your response the party platform web page addresses that you used.
Your posted response must be no more than two (2) paragraphs in length. Note that party positions on the economy and homeland security for example are fairly long. So for example, if you choose to compare or contrast the Republican and Democrat Party’s positions on the economy, just choose one aspect of the economy like taxes.
