Police are a vital component in combating domestic violence/intimate partner violence, however, challenges may exist for police when it comes to investigating domestic violence/intimate partner violence when the victim is Native American and Alaska Native. To further understand these complexities, students will watch The Burden of Silence documentary and write a one to two-page reflection paper about it.

Also, I had some questions about what is expected in the reflected paper.

1. What is your first impression/thought about the video?

2. Was there anything that surprised you?

3. Was this information not surprising?

4. What are your thoughts about the issues that face this population?
