The posted solutions include a step-by-step walkthrough of how to do this that will be useful if you’ve never used data validation before. Once you have implemented the data validation, you can confirm it is working by opening the “Data” menu in Excel and clicking on “Data Validation” and then “Circle Invalid Data”. You should end up with red circles around the invalid data as shown in the picture below. ( I took screenshot it )
Note: it is normal for the circles to go away when saving or reopening the document. Simply choose Circle Invalid Data again to see them.
