Many students tend to find rotational motion more difficult than translational motion.
Hello, i have some work to do , everything is explained below .
Discussion board :
Watch the (7:32) video below to be able to answer the following questions.
1 – The Initial Post
After watching the video explain why the horses on the outside of the merry go round have a greater linear speed. What path (A, B, C, or D) will the marble take at the end of the video and explain why using one or more of Newton’s Laws. What experiment could YOU devise to show a classmate that your answer is correct (don’t use the one from the video)? Be very detailed about how you would set up your experiment, and how you will know what path the object moving in a circular path could take. (You will perform this experiment so make it realistic. You will report the results in your reply to a classmate’s post. If you report your results here, your grade will be zero. Following directions is a very important part of the learning process.) Your experimental description should include a testable hypothesis (it must include a clear prediction of the outcome of the experiment that you expect), an equipment list, instructions on how to set up the experiment, and instructions on how to run the experiment. Provide an explanation of how we will know if your hypothesis is correct or not? (Your grade will NOT be reduced if your hypothesis is incorrect. Incorrect hypotheses are an important part of the scientific process.)
2- The Reply Post —- (i will send classmate reply later , i can’t see their responds unless i post mine first )
Compare and contrast your answer to those of a classmate that doesn’t already have a reply. Correct any misconceptions they may have. Did your classmate provide enough experimental details for you to be able to arrive at a correct answer if you perform their experiment? Perform the experiment you devised and provide your results here. Can you perform the experiment your classmate devised? Explain why or why not. If you can perform your classmate’s experiment do so and share the results of it here. Provide details.
If you can include photos!
Many students tend to find rotational motion more difficult than translational motion. Are you one of these students? If so explain why. If you’re not, explain the connections you see between rotational and translational motion that could help a classmate out.
