GAME Limited (GL) is a technology company that manufactures and sells a wide range of gaming hardware, software and related peripherals. GL was founded in 2005 and is headquartered in Singapore. GL has operations in 14 countries including Australia, China, Germany, and Thailand.

International Assignments are a core part of GL’s talent development strategy for their high potentials. As the Leader of the International Mobility Team at GL, you are pleased to have shortlisted 3 potential candidates for the ASEAN Sales Director. Due to the importance of the Indonesian market to ASEAN, the ASEAN Sales Director needs to be based in Indonesia.

The outgoing ASEAN Sales Director, Tommy Lee will be taking on the role of the ANZ (Australia and New Zealand) Sales Director. Tommy is newly married and looking forward to start his new married life in Australia. As the move is employee-initiated, the Long-Term Assignment Policy will not apply. Instead, GL will support Tommy’s move with a localisation assistance package.

Using the concepts and models learnt from this module and additional information provided in the attached annexes, work on the following:

• a) Prepare a plan to support Tommy in his transition and address his queries. (20 marks)
• b) Develop a plan with the necessary criteria to help you select the most suitable candidate and ensure the candidate will be successful on the international assignment to Indonesia. (30 marks)
