For this assignment, you are expected to conduct an assessment of another individual who is different than you in some way and cannot be a member of this class. Drawing upon the insights, resources, skills, and competencies we have explored throughout this class, you are asked to demonstrate your ability to apply them in a helping role. This assessment is expected to be at least 8-10 pages in length, following APA standards including a cover page. In your assessment, you are to attend to and document:
Social locations*
How do they identify religiously/ spiritually?
Religious/spiritual experience of their family of origin
Spiritual history
Relationship to their spiritual history
Current religious expression/spirituality / governing worldview
Identify spiritual strengths
What/who/where are their spiritual resources?
Is the current religious/spiritual framework helpful, neutral, or harmful?
Additionally, you will be expected to utilize at least one spiritual assessment tool contained in Chapter 8 of Dudley as part of your assessment
Towards the end of your assessment, please add a brief paragraph about how it felt to conduct the assessment for you personally. Your reflective skills should always carry over to yourself and your continued growth as a practitioner.
Remember, you know more than you think you do. You have done the hard reflective work yourself to prepare for this. Allow your curiosity to motivate your gentle exploration into the landscape of another person’s heart and story.
*Social Location is defined as the combination of factors including gender, race, social class, age, ability, religion, sexual orientation, and geographic location. For more information see: https://www.ncfr.org/ncfr-report/spring-2019/inclu…
