As a master level social worker, if you are not already, you will probably be in a leadership, administrative or supervisory role at some point during your career. Policy is something that impacts the way we do our jobs including interactions with others, job performance, job satisfaction, services and how we deliver them. This will be a 6-part assignment with a component completed each week. You will be looking at a policy within an organization.

Upon successful completion of this assignment, you will be able to:

  3. This may require you to interview an administrator at your organization or you may need to consult with organizational documents.
  4. Citing the workshop resource and in an APA-formatted paper, write a one-paragraph response to each of the following prompts:
     1. Considering the policy you have been reviewing in assignments 2.4, 3.4 and 4.4, what steps would you need to take to change or create a new policy? What are the steps to change or create a new policy at your organization?
     2. If you were to change the policy you have been discussing, who must you include? Who are the other important stakeholders to include?
     3. Who must approve the changes? How long does it take? Please provide details
     4. What are some things you must consider when presenting a policy change? Please answer this question considering policy change in general. The next prompt will address your specific organization.
