Instructions: Answer both of the following questions in essay form. Check your writing for clarity of wording, spelling, punctuation, and general form. All answers should be in YOUR OWN words.
This essaycan be completed using class readings and discussion links solely, but feel free to use any outside sources that you wish. If you do include outside information, be sure to footnote those sources and include a bibliography. When using our course materials, paraphrase as much as possible; any direct quotes that you include should be properly cited. (See the Avoiding Plagiarism handout that is in our Canvas Course Instructions area.)
Support your answers with examples –from the readings, discussions, or your own. As always, define all concepts that you use. Don’t assume that I know anything.
Length: 2 to 3 paragraphs each. Yes, you can write more if you are so moved. Use 11 or 12 font size and double space. Although a works cited list is not required (unless you use outside sources), including a source list always is more meticulous. APA or Chicago styles are fine.
Citing and integrating ideas from throughout the course will make your essays most complete and thorough. I will be looking for this.

B. Throughout the textbook and other articles that we have read this semester, the authors note many ways that intergroup hostility can be reduced. In this essay, I would like you to explore how we might create communities of inclusion. Feel free to organize your response in any way. For example, you might focus on a particular group or a particular community. You could also focus on a particular process, like prejudice or institutionalized discrimination, everyday interactions or broader institutionalized practices. I will leave the creativity up to you.
