Every contract must have contract management to ensure that the agreement's terms are followed. The three necessary qualifications for contract management are technical skills, interpersonal aptitudes, and conceptual skills. Human relations, however, is the most crucial of the three since it serves as the foundation for the entire contract management process. Human relations also refers to managing interpersonal interactions that foster efficiency and effectiveness. Human relations are a part of human resource management, which may be used in contract management. Human relations provide efficient negotiation management, the development of a common vision, the resolution of conflicts, and the establishment of an atmosphere that is conducive to success and productivity. The effectiveness of a human relations strategy tailored to contract management, the influence of organizational culture, and the suitability of human resource managers for contract management jobs should all be the subjects of future research. The importance of human relations in contract management is now demonstrated by study and experience (Yu et al., 2018).
Relationships must be managed to foster productivity and an atmosphere that supports effectiveness and efficiency. Contract management may use the human resource management function, which involves interpersonal relationships. Future studies should concentrate on a successful human relations strategy for managing contracts, the influence of corporate culture, and the suitability of human resource managers for managing contracts. The foundation of effective contract management is strong human relations skills. Since contracts cover a wide range of company sectors, contract managers interact with several diverse groups of people both inside and externally. When these contacts are being created and revised, a professional contract manager will work efficiently with all parties. A competent contract manager will undoubtedly be knowledgeable about their company's operations, but they will also know who to turn to for functional or specialized knowledge. Strong professional ties, networking, and interpersonal skills are therefore crucial. Contract managers must be familiar with the contractual aspects of their firm in addition to the business itself. Strong human relations abilities, which are directly related to teamwork, are essential for an effective contract manager. For stakeholders to be aware of the agreement, communication is essential.
Additionally, the company must be aware of all requirements, commitments, performance indicators, and compliance difficulties. Shifts, tweaks, and changes are required once a third party, and I have agreed. A contract manager cannot consider every conceivable combination, choice, and possibility. To make fair modifications or to come up with alternatives, the CM must engage with both internal and external stakeholders. Naturally, collaboration and bargaining go hand in hand. A systematic approach to execution is necessary for maintaining high performance in every field of endeavor. The Contract Lifecycle model in contract management offers a high-level framework for approaching contracting as a business process. In contract management, human relations, strong working relations, and networking skills matter (Albano, 2013).
