The behavior being pinpointed; effective pairing with a client. These are the factors we want to
see below:
1. RBT is engaging with client and with the activities
2. RBT follows the client’s motivation
3. RBT does not place any demands while pairing
4. Client will be compliant when RBT introduces simple demands
The opposite of pairing would be not pairing. These are the factors associated during a session of
no pairing:
1. Client shows an increase in maladaptive behaviors
2. RBT is placing too many demands
3. RBT presents non- preferred items or activities
4. RBT allows child to play alone
Pairing Task Analysis for RBTs:
o Was I enthusiastic and playful?
o Identified reinforcers that the client wants at the moment
o Offered reinforcement without placing demands
o Introduced new ways of playing with preferred items
o Narrated during all activities during the session

Interventions:
Top Score: I would provide immediate positive feedback and provide a sufficient reinforcement.
Middle score: Provide feedback on ways they could improve to get a top score but also provide reinforcement for the behaviors that we want to maintain.
Low Score: Troubleshoot and assess why they scored so low. Once the barriers are identified work to remove those barriers.
