Franchising is a very important method of distribution for many corporations. In this short writing assignment, you will select and examine two franchise businesses.

Instructions

1. Go to Franchise Direct, Top 100 Franchises for the current year and review two franchise business opportunities. They must be from different industry categories.

2. In a 500-750 words, answer the following questions:

a. Identify the industry and name for the franchise. How long have the franchises been in business?

b. How do the requirements for physical location (territory granted) contribute to the distribution of the product or service?

c. What are the main problems, including supply chain management, facing the franchise as they add additional franchise locations? Additional research will be needed to address this question.

d. Are there other distribution channels the franchise might use to expand distribution of their good or service? An example would be Dunkin’ placing bags of coffee in grocery stores.

Please be specific and utilize your readings and research to substantiate your thoughts.

Requirements:

 Prepare a quality, substantive paper that addresses the objectives of the assignment and the expectations set forth in the grading rubric.

 A minimum of 500 words excluding the title page and references is required.

 Support your answers with a minimum of three scholarly and/or professional sources

that have been published within the past 5 years.

 Use APA format for sources, but APA formatting is not required for the paper.

o Refer to APA Style and the Online Writing Center resources in Academic Resources for guidance citation formatting.

 Note: an abstract, introduction, and conclusion are not required for this assignment.
