By looking at how an author treats a category in his or her writing and what he or she has to say about the category, we can draw conclusions about what that author's purpose is for writing and what social issues he or she may have been trying to comment on.   Choose at least one of the literature selections from this week's reading assignment to analyze. Consider gender, class, or ethnicity in your analysis of the work of literature and attempt to draw conclusions about what the author may have been trying to communicate in relation to category.
