Imagine?that you have completed your project. You
DO THIS IN 10 HOURS max
Imagine that you have completed your project. You exceeded the project budget, but you were able to complete the project. However, you were over budget by 20% in terms of costs and completion date. Now, management has requested a review of your project.
Write an 6 page paper in which you:
-Identify and analyze the process you would use to close out your project and Determine the main challenges that you would encounter during the project closeout process and provide your strategy to address the challenges in question.
TIP: The challenges must be related to the specific close out process. So if collecting and documenting "Lessons Learned" was part of your close out- what challenges might you face and how would you deal with it.
Example:
"Collecting and documenting lessons learned may be challenging for two reasons: Project team members may have already been assigned to another project and may not have the time to submit lessons learned in timely manner. To overcome or minimize this challenge I would make every effort to request lesson learned before they are assigned to another project. Additionally, some project members be on vacation at the end of the project. Needless to say, in both these challenges I would remind the project members to record and submit lesson learned as they occur rather than waiting for till the end of project. Recording lesson learned as they occur would also provide accurate historical information as the lessons learned are being recording as they occur."
–Talk about another computer-based tool, other than MS Project and MS Office (e.g. do not use Project, Word, Excel), that you could use in order to manage project costs and scheduling. Speculate on the overall different project management strategy that you would apply based on the tool that you have selected.
-Analyze whether continuous process improvements would have helped the delivery of your project. Provide a rationale to support your response.
-Speculate on whether using risk management techniques would have affected the delivery of your project. Support your response with at least two (2) examples of using risk management techniques that would have helped you deliver your project on or under budget.
-Use at least FOUR (4) quality (per Rubric grading) resources in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia and similar websites do not qualify as quality resources.

Introduction
The project is of Michigan Elementary school where their playground is weary and plans
to renovate must be made to ensure that students enjoy their resources and helps in active
participation in school activities. Most school renovations are aimed at improving the reception
of facilities to ensure pupils and all the staff upgrade. Physical activities at any school
playground have a vital role which is aimed at improving the attention skills and span of
students, helps in decreasing anxiety and stress levels as they prepare for their classwork
activities. When kids try things outside their classroom setting, their motivation is boosted, and
they can enjoy school more which creates a great sense of learning. Additionally, cognitive,
social, emotional, and physical skills are developed in the process of active participation in
playgrounds since children feel under safe spaces and can be themselves in playgrounds
(Pawlowski et al, 2019). Therefore, playgrounds must be renovated, when need is, to be friendly
to their children's activities, and Michigan Elementary school could take into consideration
renovating their playground to improve their student's well-being. Renovation ensures that better
spaces are brought back to life for benefit of the students. The project scope is therefore limited
only to school playgrounds.
Project goals and objectives
Among the goals of the renovation project of Michigan Elementary school is improving the
school's infrastructure through renovations of the playground, creating a template playground
plan, and being the best playground within Michigan. On the other hand, the objectives are to
create a safe and fun playground for the students, to improve students' physical participation in
field activities to be able to compete with other schools, and to offer the modest type of tools
3
used for physical activities at school. Among the goals is to improve the school’s infrastructure,
whereby infrastructure plays a role in expanding the school. Through infrastructure, institutions
get connected across their metropolitan areas to take part in employment opportunities and
ensure quality education for their students by providing all necessary skills within their reach.
Additionally, a template playground has to be organized in terms of core factors keeping in mind
the needs of the students as well as the budget allocated for the same to ensure the renovation
purpose meets the needs of the students and is within the project scope (Raney et al,2019). To be
able to lead in offering the best physical activities around Michigan, renovation of playgrounds
will play a major role in propelling the goal. Therefore, Michigan Elementary school, can offer
the best playground activities and be able to lead within their metropolitan area.
On the other hand, the objectives of the renovation project of the Michigan Elementary
school playground are to create a safe and fun environment for their students to develop
important skills around and allow the children to participate in activities that can boost their
health and wellness. In offering the modest physical activities using the modest tools as an
objective of Michigan Elementary school, success in fieldwork activities is guaranteed among
the students which will reflect better performance as an outcome of physical health. The other
objective is to expand skillsets for the students through creating a fun playground with the
modest tools of use to expand their capacities and their participation in curriculum activities as
well as boosting their competition levels with other institutions. Through interactions of students
with other schools in the event of curriculum activities, social and emotional skills can still be
perfected which can help the students positively and keep them motivated with school activities
as well as performance. Additionally, employment opportunities will be created for the residents
around the metropolitan areas and Michigan Elementary school reputation will be boosted.

Customers and stakeholders
The customers of the innovation project are parents and their school-going children. The
children benefit directly from the project through active participation in curriculum activities in
advanced and secure spaces to be themselves while parents benefit from providing their children
with safe spaces to play and learn from. The stakeholders of the Michigan Elementary school
project are contractors, parents, school-going children, and the local community. Stakeholders
are mainly the investors and owners of the project who take part in funding the project and
keeping it active. The school director among related management can lead the ongoing project to
determine the results and ensure it lies in between the scope and set a budget on allocated
timeframe. The investors’ role is to put their shares into the playground renovation project to be
a long-term activity corresponding to the belief of strong and positive aspects of the school. The
local community is involved in the project since they can get better employment opportunities
through construction where skilled personnel will be employed for the allocated time frame of
the project.
Milestones
Milestones are the priority tasks, deliverables, and checkpoints within the renovation
project that are used to measure the level of success in performing expected tasks to meet the
goals within a set timeframe. Safety is the key issue in a playground, therefore ensuring safety
measures such as materials used in construction such as hard surfaces that might risk children
5
health, sharp edges and pinch points, high platforms and play equipment without barriers as well
as tripping (Hill & Chawla, 2019). Another milestone to be checked is that the school manager
should ensure funding is ongoing from the investor's side for the project to move swiftly. The
hiring of skilled staff such as constructors is key also where those that meet deliverables must be
highly involved and replacements shall be made when one fails to adhere to set rules. The
signing of contracts must also be prioritized in the milestones by the school management such as
the manager to keep up with funding and construction activities and offer them in good time as
well as meet quality standard constructions.
Timeline
A high-level timeline is required in meeting the playground renovation project activities in
that in a set time frame some of the activities must have been met to ensure the main goals are in
a way to be met. Top priority tasks are ensuring materials in use are sourced to Michigan
Elementary school, qualified workforce is employed and investors sign contracts in time for the
project to onset. A year earlier, Michigan Elementary school would compile a mood board, set a
budget within six months prior, make appointments five months before the onset of the project
and finalize as they start within three months to the project initiation. Preparations for
renovations can be done within the first week of the project where undoing of the field can be
done where necessary. After successful completion of the same, acquiring necessary materials
such as cement, wood chips, rubber mulch, engineered wood fiber among others.
Overall costs
6
The average cost involved in renovating the Michigan Elementary school playground is
estimated to be $50,000. The average cost for playground equipment takes about $30,000
depending on the size-inclusive of play structures and custom designs. The hiring of staff costs
around $10,000 while the other $10,000 can cater for materials in use and other requirements
such as architect’s fees among others as well as extra fees that might be incurred in the event of
renovating the playground.
