Philosophy of Classroom Management
· My Definition of Classroom Management
Classroom management is the practice that teachers engage in to have and sustain an enabling environment for the learners as they strive for academic achievement, alongside improving their social, emotional, and moral growth and development. Classroom management determines students' success in a school setup (Nagler, 2016). A well–managed class yields high levels of discipline among students, entails good and effective communication between the teacher and learner, and fights for teamwork. Here, students are very comfortable in the classroom setting and are emotionally and physically rested. The teacher is always at the center of ensuring the management of classrooms with the help of their students. They ensure good organization in the classroom, instill discipline among students, and ensure students acquire effective communication skills throughout their learning. Self-management skills should be imparted to the learner as early they arrive in schools as this is one of the major goals of education other than academic achievement.
Learners are also key players in classroom management. A well-managed classroom setup should be learner-centered. They should be actively involved in classroom activities such as asking questions, answering questions, reading, body movements, and formulating their questions. The teacher should be keen while dealing with the students and give each student equal chances to ask and answer questions. This boosts students` learning morals. Students, therefore, learn harmoniously and in a conducive environment. To ensure effective classroom management, communication should be key. A teacher should maintain and promote communication among the learners and their teachers. This helps create a peaceful coexistence between the two parties. Communication enables the teacher to identify learners' problems and provide assistance. It also enables the teacher to understand the learner's psychology, which greatly helps teach.
· How do I want my Classroom to Look and Feel, Behaviorally Speaking? Most Important Aspects of Classroom Functioning to me
I would want my classroom to be organized so that each property has its correct position where it is kept and a proper sitting arrangement for students. An organized classroom seems appealing and attractive. It interests many and is admired. It also makes the learners acquire good personal, organizational skills. Secondly, I would want my class to be learner-centered, where I do little, majorly instructions, and most actions are conducted. This helps build their confidence and enables them to make the right choices. Through student participation, I can know the understanding level of each student and make adjustments and recommend where applicable. In case of misbehavior, the right actions are taken toward correcting the misbehavior (Middleweb, 2019)
I want my classroom to be engaging by incorporating visual learning aids in my teaching. According to Barrett et al. (2015), students become more engaged in their work and display the ability to remember what they learned when visual aids are used. Therefore, I would like my class to have images, short stories, known heroes, and leaders. This would enable my students to easily remember the concept taught by recalling some of the visual aids that were used. It also makes them retain the content covered. Each lesson should have appropriate visual aids to gain knowledge and impressions. Alongside the named required requirements for my classroom, I would also ensure a well-ventilated class with natural light. This is because a study conducted by Cheryan et al. (2014) showed that students exposed to more natural light outdo their colleagues who are exposed to less natural light in Mathematics and reading.
· My Main Responsibilities in Classroom Management
A teacher plays a crucial role in terms of classroom management. A teacher is fully accountable for classroom management. They play key functions in classroom management; Classroom organization, maintaining discipline among learners, proper communication with the learners, giving instructions, taking part in classroom design, coming up with rules guiding the classroom, and scheduling the class activities (Cini, 2017). The organization is among the crucial roles of a teacher. With poor organization, classroom activities are not likely to run smoothly. Therefore, teachers need to have a well-organized classroom and be updated regularly. Teachers are role models for students. Therefore, it is worth it when students emulate good self-organization skills during their schooling and later apply them in their lives during and after schooling.
Effective classroom management has to be effective communication as one of the teacher's roles. It is important to have good communication between the teacher and the students in and outside the classroom. This helps the teacher gauge the learner's psychology and understand what works best for the learner. It also creates a positive coexistence between the learner and the teacher. Through communication, teachers can help students in such cases of personal problems that affect the learners. This, in turn, shows the students how caring and concerned their teachers are about maintaining their well-being. Communication also encompasses linguistic skills such as accepted classroom language, gestures, emphasis where needed, and tonal variation. This aspect of communication makes learning interesting and enjoyable (Nagler, 2016). A teacher needs to motivate his learners by praising them whenever they do good and participating in other forms of motivation to ensure their academic success.
· My Student's Main Responsibilities concerning Behavior and Classroom Management
As defined earlier, classroom management is the practice that teachers engage in to have and sustain an enabling environment for the learners as they strive for academic achievement, alongside improving their social, emotional, and moral growth and development. It is two-way traffic; to have effective classroom management, both the teacher and learners must be involved as the teacher gives directions. To have effective classroom management, the students have to take part in the following ways;
According to Newman (2019), a student is expected to have a personal accountability notion. This is seen in the scenarios where students are held accountable for their actions, mostly geared towards achieving positive values accepted in and outside the classroom. On the other hand, students are also liable for punishment in case of engaging in wrong actions or undesired activities. Students should engage in activities that promote positive school culture. They become morally upright students and create a good image for their societies; thus, education goals are also achieved.
Secondly, students should be active participants in the classroom (positive action blog, 2021). This shows their readiness to learn and their understanding level since students will ask or answer questions based on the content gained. Students engage in active participation in class by asking questions for clarity or formulating questions to be part of assignments, answering questions, and doing both classroom and homework assignments. This makes the teacher also adjust where necessary. Full and active participation of learners in class creates a positive environment for learning, enhancing the aspect of learning to learn.

Classroom Management
School and classroom management aims to teach children self-control by promoting good student performance and conduct. School and classroom management, for example, have a direct influence on everything from teacher and student conduct to academic achievement. Controlling classroom content, regulating classroom behavior, and monitoring class covenants are important aspects of classroom administration (agreement management). The visible components of effective teaching tactics are discussed and presented in full for these ideas and aspects.
· What are the necessary components of a classroom management system?
· Controlling content. The research found that some classroom concerns may negatively impact the classroom's ability to teach and learn effectively. Such problems have been proved to prevent instructors from establishing and implementing relevant instructional programs for their pupils. Teachers seldom encourage pupils to pay attention and reflect on what they learn in class. It's also true that their lesson plans aren't always varied. In addition, students' understanding and seat work are seldom examined in the classroom.
· Regulating classroom behavior. Those with good administrative and organizational skills, on the other hand, have found classroom management considerably simpler. The book states that "content management refers to skills that one may employ across a broad variety of subjects and activities (Klattenberg, 2020). According to Doyle, a successful instructional management system involves students in cooperative learning activities. Kounin claims that excellent instructional management, sequencing, and integration skills are essential for a range of educational roles.
· Monitoring class covenants. The way a person views human nature influences how they treat others. Teachers who acknowledge and value human diversity and individuality may manage their classes more successfully and efficiently. Researchers say it's critical to help kids develop good classroom habits as early as possible. When planning classroom management tactics, consider how assertive communication styles and approaches could work (“Classroom Management and School Science Labs: A Review of Literature on Classroom Management Strategies,” 2018). Also, they should always be aware of their students' objectives and search for methods to integrate them into suitable learning activities while adhering to clearly stated school and classroom standards.
· What is the purpose of each component?
· To have a disciplined, task-oriented approach to teaching and learning. Socialization helps kids become more self-reliant. A thorough behavior management strategy should include instructor monitoring and disciplinary measures as needed. A behavior plan's capacity to detect and reward good conduct while penalizing and disciplining undesirable and irresponsible behavior. A written behavioral contract specifying constraints outside the classroom and reinforcement mechanisms are all part of the strategy. To be distinguished in ideal teaching situations, all of these components must be combined.
· To create a social structure in covenant management. The classroom's capacity to operate as a learning environment is influenced by both instructors' and students' expectations. In other words, no other institution's culture is like a school's. Consequently, the culture of the larger community that the school serves has a huge impact. Continuous evaluation and growth are essential to address changing global needs while maintaining strong school-community links (Klattenberg, 2020). As schools and classrooms grow increasingly varied in student body and content, teachers and students should be more aware of harnessing diversity to create a better group of individuals.
· To promote effective communication. Effective teacher-student connections are critical to a pleasant school or classroom environment. Classroom management and disciplinary concerns may be handled individually (teacher-to-student) or jointly (teacher-to-group) (class meetings). Gradually, students' trust in the instructor builds, and they are educated to take responsibility for their work. According to the National Council of Instructors of English, both instructors and students contribute to the teaching-learning process (NCTE).

· How will I comply with the legal, professional, and ethical obligations associated with classroom management?
Proper classroom management is a critical facet in building a conducive atmosphere for learners. Teachers may, however, be faced with legal, ethical and professional challenges in the course of managing students due to varied ethnicities that force them to cross over the above-mentioned boundaries. Therefore, it is incumbent upon the teacher to have an absolute understanding of the apparent implications and institute pragmatic techniques to comply with the legal, ethical and professional confines posed. It is further crucial to note that different localities and school districts have diverse laws, cultures, and norms that require strict compliance and specific tactics to ensure successful classroom management (IvyPanda, 2020). For example, corporal punishment is outlawed in some societies by acts of parliament, and the educator must be cognizant of such laws to avoid dismissals when instilling discipline to learners who have acted immorally.
Additionally, the instructor must be aware of the fact that most public and private schools have strict policies that bar teachers from verbally abusing the learners and have a zero-tolerance to bullying. Also, all schools have professional, legal and ethical guidelines that the instructors can utilize in successful classroom management which include how to administer punishment, reward systems, communication avenues, and teacher-student interaction models, among others. The teacher must communicate the school rules as well as student roles and responsibilities so as to have an all-round understanding of the legal, ethical, and professional dictates across the learning institution leading to effective classroom management (IvyPanda, 2020).
· What will I do to establish positive relations and develop trust with my students, my colleagues, and my students’ caregivers?
Colleague teachers, students, and the student's caregivers form the larger learning environment and play a critical role in the molding and development of a student throughout their academic career. Consequently, a teacher's success depends on the relationship formed and the trust built with the workmates, the learners, and the caregivers. To achieve academic success, the instructor must develop respect, trust, and a watertight relationship with the students from the onset. A teacher needs to enhance good relations and trust with all the players in the learning circle.
Building positive relations and confidence with the students may take some time. From the first day of the school year, the teacher must employ short- and long-term learning strategies to earn the students’ trust and professional respect. Some of the activities geared towards enhancing trust and building positive relations with students include providing a proper learning structure that actively engages the students through the coursework and makes learning a fun exercise. The teacher must also show passion and enthusiasm, have humor, introduce storytelling sessions, and treat each student with the utmost respect (Meador, 2021).
In relation to the colleagues, working together with mutual understanding and respect enhances trust and leads to a positive working atmosphere. Activities such as forming a birthday committee professional networking groups, engaging in team-building exercises, sharing positive thoughts and feedback with team members, and avoiding gossip and suspicions at work are great recipes for enhancing trust and building long-term positive relations (Chad, 2020). Finally, the teacher must also earn trust and engage positively with the caregivers. This can be achieved through effective communication with the caregivers on the students' progress, learning their names, and addressing them with a smile utilizing their first names. The caregivers appreciate these initiatives and result in a pleasant and friendly relationship.

Preventing or Reducing Misbehavior in Class

Steps to take to prevent or limit the known causes of misbehavior that might otherwise influence my classes:
Effective classroom management is vital in achieving an institution's curriculum and core curriculum objectives. Therefore the role played by the students and the teachers at large determines the extent to which the set academic targets are achieved. Misbehavior within the student fraternity must henceforth be managed promptly and effectively to avert any threats to realizing classroom success (Bennett, 2021).
Students develop certain unwanted behaviors that affect their classroom performance. Research shows that some of these behaviors similarly impact the performance of classmates and their inter-relations. Most common behaviors include but are not limited to stealing from other class members, annoying colleagues through provocative gestures, teasing, calling each other names, and picking at one another. In some instances, the student engages in disruptive activities during class time by shouting, inappropriately laughing, and even causing accidents during instruction. There are circumstances where a learner deliberately falsifies statements or lie so as to get another student in trouble with friends or administration (Al Qahtani, 2016).
Accordingly, it is crucial to underscore the leading causes of the misbehaviors mentioned above within the learning environment and formulate proactive ways to limit and prevent the said causes. First, one of the main reasons students misbehave is seeking attention from others. Such students will tend to be excessively silly or make fun of others just to be noticed. The best method to address attention-seeking behavior is not to overly engage with such students unless it interferes with the rest of the class members. The other way of responding to the behavior is by showing positivity, smiling with eye contact, and even engaging the student through constructive classroom work that would keep them busy and recognized (Bennett, 2021).
The other known cause for student misbehavior is the desire to have power and control over the rest of the student body. The power-hungry students often engage in unnecessary arguments and confrontations, including not following simple laid down regulations and rules at school. Some helpful tactics to employ to avert students with a high desire to control others is to avoid confrontation with the person in question. Second, it is advisable to accord respect to the learner's private space.
Additionally, providing direction and varied choices to work with for a given task would limit the misbehavior. It may also be helpful to provide the student with an avenue to voice their concerns in class, either during class meetings or group sessions. Students who have developed a habit of controlling their classmates should also be addressed in a soft and respectful tone to avoid any spark in emotions and eventual confrontation (Bennett, 2021).
Boredom is another cause of student misbehavior. Some students may begin engaging in mischievous activities during class time, distracting others, whispering, or giggling due to being bored. As a result, the learning objective is missed, and the rest of the students fail to achieve instructional objectives. The most proactive way to eliminate boredom in class is to engage in challenging academic activities that require the active participation of all members.
Students are always challenged when they have engaged in problem-based learning exercises. It also helps them to have stamina in class and enjoy each lesson to the fullest. Planning for lessons adequately and incorporating exiting learning activities such as group sessions and competitive interactions with the sessions illuminates the classroom and reduces boredom, thereby reducing prospects of misbehavior among students (Al Qahtani, 2016).

How I Will Support My Students’ Efforts to Participate and Persevere
How will I Speak with and Interact with My Students?
Firstly is being mindful of how I communicate. Students can sometimes be anxious, and they will likely respond positively to a personal style that is kind, firm, and consistent. As a teacher, I will first do when interacting with students to ensure that I am clear, directive, and calm. Another strategy is creating a game plan with them. I will ensure that I work with the students to build a plan to use that best suits them and use it from time to time to evaluate its effectiveness and make adjustments whenever necessary. An example of the plan could be a specific cue to use to communicate that the plan will be implemented (International OCD Foundation, 2021). Accordingly, I will encourage my students to tell me if they are struggling. I will achieve this by using measures such as developing constant scheduled check-in and agreeing on the method by which they can contact me.
How will I Make Sure Students Know What they are Expected to Do?
I will use precise language. I will ensure this by using concrete terms and complete, short, and precise sentences. I will also precisely articulate the expectations of the assignment. Another strategy is repeating directions. A teacher may give direction to students, but they are not paying attention. I will always ensure that I take a swift look around the class give some redirection, and assignment directions on the relevant platform such as the board. Accordingly, I will explain the aim of the task. By explaining to the students why they are required to finish their assignment, they will be more able to appreciate their experience (Barile, 2020). This I can achieve by connecting the assignment to existing student knowledge, covered materials, or already learned lessons. I will also ensure that my students comprehend. After giving students directions, I will go on to ask them to rephrase what they are expected to do.
What Types of Activities Will I Emphasize in Teaching?
One type of activity that I will emphasize in teaching is debate. Participating in interactive argumentation increases students' conceptual comprehension. Another activity will be an interview. The class members can take part in characters such as historical figures. Roleplay will ensure that students are organized to address the content ahead of them. Accordingly, I will emphasize interactive demonstrations. I will use this type of activity to show the application of a skill or concept. I will also emphasize the entry/exit tickets activity. This activity is a short question that provides swift student diagnostic instructions. Ticket entry/exit will ensure students' participation and enable them to be keen on vital concepts. Consequently, I will emphasize free writing. Questions of the day exercise make students write a response to an open question. The aim of this activity is to help them arrange their own thoughts.
How will I Engage Students Actively When I am Providing Instruction?
I will make the activity meaningful. Students are supposed to perceive the Instruction as being meaningful by showing the value of the question in meaningful ways. I will also foster a sense of competence. To ensure this, I will make the assigned activity slightly beyond their level of proficiency, make them show their comprehension throughout an activity, and demonstrate peer mastery modes. Accordingly, I will offer autonomy support by acknowledging every student's ideas, giving them the time they require to comprehend an activity on their own and using non-controlling language with them. I will encourage collaborative learning. While giving them the question, I will ensure that they work with others because their participation will be increased.
How Will I Monitor and Help Students When they are Doing Independent Work?
I will show them models of behaviour. I will tell them to imitate my behaviour, for example, how categorizing data can make it simple to recall. I will create communication that includes language focused on learning. By doing this, they will be more aware of the levels involved in learning; they will be able to comprehend their own individual leaving methods and assist them in sharing their thinking. I will offer them options and encourage them to develop their own learning goals. This is to ensure that my students can reflect on their own actions and take ownership of their learning. In turn, they will feel empowered and in control of their individual learning. I will also offer them written and oral feedback on an assignment. Here, I will give grades for the level of their efforts to ensure the students' confidence in working independently gets improved.
How Will I Use My Personal Charisma to Influence Behavior?
I will use my personal charisma to ensure that I like being around my students. By enjoying the company of my students, I will be able to attract and keep them around me. They will, in turn, want to be around me; there will b
