In Module 2, you will complete an EFE and CPM for your company (including analysis and conclusions).
External Factor Evaluation (EFE) Matrix is a strategy tool used to examine company’s external environment and to identify the available opportunities and threats.
List the External Factors and Categorize Them as Opportunities or Threats.
Assign a Weight to Each Factor.
Assign a Rating.
Determine the Weighted Scores.
Total Weighted Score.
The ratings in CPM refer to how well companies are doing in each area. They range from 4 to 1, where 4 means a major strength, 3 – minor strength, 2 – minor weakness and 1 – major weakness. Ratings, as well as weights, are assigned subjectively to each company, but the process can be done easier through benchmarking.

IFE, Ratios, Phase 1 – List key internal factors as identified in the internal analysis process.
The ratings in the IFE matrix refer to the strong and weak internal factors within a company.

In Module 3, you will complete an IFE and calculate financial ratios (including analysis and conclusions) for your company.
