Analyzing the College Experience Final Paper:

The final paper is designed to provide students with the opportunity to demonstrate understanding, integration, and application of the material covered in this class as they relate to their own college experiences. Students will begin by analyzing how the decision process they described in the College Choice and Campus Culture Reflection assignment is reflected (or not) in what is known in the literature. The analysis should then include different campus subcultures, intersecting identities, and organizations om campus support various theories or models appropriate to understanding how students navigate the undergraduate experience. Experiences you should consider important to include in the paper are how college choice decisions are made, what influences were important, and factors (events, individuals, etc.) that create change. The integration of the research and theories discussed in this class is a major expectation in this assignment. The final paper should be completed using APA style in format, citations, and references. The length should be between 10 to 15 pages, including references. Additional research will be necessary to complete this assignment.
