Mobile phones are often used for a variety of purposes, including keeping in touch with loved ones, doing business, and having a gadget on hand in case of an emergency. Some people carry two or more mobile phones for a variety of reasons, including for business and personal use, while others carry just one. The Internet and the use of mobile phones, according to current studies, are responsible for a substantial percentage of the social and emotional development of this generation’s children. The use of social media sites such as Twitter, Snapchat, and Instagram, which all give many opportunities for contact on a daily basis, allows people with similar interests to interact with one another and share their experiences. Recent research indicates that 22% of teenagers use their chosen social media site more than 10 times per day and that more than half of adolescents use a social media site more than once each day. The inability of children and Adolescents to control their emotions, as well as their vulnerability to peer pressure, puts them at risk while they are navigating and experimenting with social media platforms. The rate of technological improvement is rising at a rate that has never been observed before in the history of the human species. Our evolution has been aided by the internet, and we have reached the point where we are the most globally connected people on the globe. This is partly owing to the increased use of social media platforms, which has contributed to this trend. Given the vast potential of the internet, social media has emerged as the dominant mode of communication, and it is projected to continue to do so for the foreseeable future as well. According to the results of the poll, over 40% of internet users in the United States between the ages of 18 and 22 who replied acknowledged being hooked to social media platforms. Children and social networking platforms have strained relationships, which is understandable. The usage of mobile phones and social media platforms by children under the age of twelve should be forbidden owing to the variety of bad consequences that might result from their use.
The use of a mobile phone too soon may result in long-term dependence on the gadget. Since its introduction, mobile phones have proven to be a very valuable tool for communication, enabling users to stay in touch with loved ones, colleagues, and people all over the world at any time of day or night. The delights of possessing a mobile phone as a Adolescents are comparable to the joys of visiting the local candy store when you’re a kid. Because of the plethora of programs accessible in app stores, it’s not difficult to see why adolescents get addicted to their cell phones. Throughout the adolescent years, the brain is still in the process of developing and growing. Adolescent brains are particularly vulnerable to the effects of things like video games and social networking. As a consequence of its design, software companies have come up with innovative ways to attract customers of all ages, including teens. Adolescents are the ones that spend the most time on social media since there are so many applications to select from. Adolescents spend a significant amount of time on these platforms each day, with an average of three hours per day spent on social media, according to recent data. More than five hours a day are spent on these social media platforms by 20% of all children and teenagers. In the United States, children use their phones for roughly seven hours every day on average. Smartphone addiction is a real issue that has to be addressed. The dopamine produced by the apps is deposited in the brain’s reward system, which is responsible for making adolescents want to use them. As a consequence, Adolescents will continue to spend an increasing amount of time on their smartphones. Addiction is the starting point for all of the other issues that might arise from the usage of mobile phones at a young age, including depression. Once an Adolescent becomes hooked, it may lead to a variety of issues.
Adolescents’ academic performance is negatively impacted by the problems that arise as a result of their addiction to mobile gadgets. The capacity to snap photographs, visit the web, and perform other basic operations on a mobile phone comes in useful in a variety of situations and is really convenient. Students may use the Internet to get material for essays and research assignments, as well as for other purposes. If you’re looking for research materials, notes, or even textbooks at a library, you may spend hours searching. Despite the fact that the library’s archives are brimming with out-of-date resources, professors often require that students access current information. Unfortunately, the improper usage of mobile devices in class may have a significant detrimental influence on students’ performance in class. When mobile devices are used actively in the classroom, they encourage students to participate in activities that are not related to their studies. Students who are immersed in computer games or talk may find it difficult to concentrate and may overlook critical information. Texting a buddy during class is a common source of distraction for most students. Many teachers report that their students send texts containing filthy, offensive, or violent information to their classmates. The sound of the phone ringing is another source of distraction. Many students are adamant about not turning off their mobile devices during lectures, which is why it is advisable to do so whenever possible.
Adolescents who are hooked to mobile phones suffer from self-image difficulties, which is a terrible side effect. People may use social media platforms to get compliments on their appearance and to compare their appearance to that of other people. It is possible that it is connected to issues with body image. Those who snap selfies and spend most of their time on social media are the ones who are most at risk of developing this condition. According to research, the majority of adolescents, particularly females, who use Instagram at least five times each day are likely to associate their self-worth with their physical beauty. The use of social media does not suggest that it is the source of the problem; rather, it acts as a channel for it, which only helps to aggravate the problem. Additionally, it encourages others to engage in the same kind of behavior. The practice of deceitfully telling falsehoods or misrepresenting the truth is not frequent among persons who want to portray a certain image. Other individuals pretend to be someone else, sometimes by adopting their identities, and this is illegal. Which can only lead to more and more falsehoods as they attempt to conceal their tracks in the course of doing so. They will be unknowingly deleting their actual identities and attempting to duplicate someone else’s persona while they are doing so.
Adolescents may be permitted to use cell phones, in direct contravention to the thesis. I believe the concept has merit, however, the fundamental flaw is that it categorizes other people’s errors and then utilizes that number to pass judgment on others who do the same. The use of mobile phones by young Adolescents not only has a large number of helpful, beneficial, and advantageous features, but it also has a large number of limits in place so that there will be a minimal distraction and no off-task activities to create any type of diversions. There is a lot of good that comes from having the capacity to limit the bad with a cellphone. The study demonstrates how apps are designed to tempt and draw children in order to cause them to get hooked; yet, what is not discussed are the limits that are in place to assist prevent or inhibit such actions from continuing. There have been an equal number of off-task applications developed as there have been limits put in place to keep kids on track, if not more, than that.
If you take into consideration all of the facts, kids should not be permitted to use mobile phone devices until they are much older and have a better understanding of how social media may affect them both positively and adversely. Children who have cell phones are likely to spend an excessive amount of time on them, depriving them of the opportunity to engage in more productive activities such as exercising and reading. However, it is the responsibility of their parents to enforce the restrictions in place to keep their children safe. There are programs available that prevent the use of bad language and participation in violent activities. Those steps should be implemented in order to benefit the children. Due to the fact that mobile phones are thoroughly knit into our social fabric, the consequences should not terrify a parent into limiting their children’s usage of a smartphone for an excessive amount of time. Adolescents use social media to text, tweet, or post their feelings, detailing their likes and dislikes, and generally helping them feel connected to their peers and the world around them; instead, parents should place restrictions on their children’s use of social media and educate them on both the positive and negative effects of cell phones.
