Privilege is a challenging term because of the way it is constructed and because it is often invisible to those who possess it.  Privilege also encompasses much more than just race.  In this thread you will find two articles and a slam poetry performance that ask us to walk readers/listeners to understand things from another perspective.  After reading/watching the posted material, answer the following questions:

1. How does privilege, or a lack of privilege, affect your life?
2. Privilege is not something someone should feel guilty for having.  However, it does necessitate acknowledgement.  What are two things you think people who possess privilege should do to to be sensitive to those who might lack their same privilege (specify the type of privilege for each)?
