Name:

General topic of your paper: [Briefly explain what your paper will focus on. Make sure that you focus on a non-Western country (i.e. NOT the United States, Canada or Western Europe)]

Length: 9-10 pages (double-spaced, 1-inch-margins, Times New Roman, 12) + a Works Cited list

Structure: This paper is supposed to be based on your own research and you need to USE the sources you discussed in your annotated bibliography (i.e. make specific references to articles, agree or disagree with certain authors, expand their arguments, quote them….). However, do not just summarize other people’s opinions. You need to have a specific thesis and make arguments to support your thesis.

Some points/questions to keep in mind when you are writing this paper:

What is your topic? And why did you choose this particular topic?
What is your thesis?
How do you support your thesis? (e.g. are you looking at any specific case studies? or how did you use your research articles? are there any quotes that you find particularly important? or any arguments that were particularly disturbing?)
How do you use your research articles? Does your argument differ significantly from the sources that you used? Do you see any problems with the research?
What are your conclusions?

Style”: I don’t care if you MLA, APA, or Chicago style (or another citation style) – as long as I am able to identify your sources and find your quotes – and as long as you are consistent throughout the paper. You can also use footnotes or endnotes if you want to, but that is not mandatory
