In yourIntroduction to your Emergency Event:

        identifythe emergency management event you will be discussing

        providedetails about where it occurred,

        when itoccurred and

        thereason you have chosen that event.  You should relate this to emergencymanagement principles.

Yourassignment should:

        useacademic language;

        bestructured with an introduction, body, and conclusion; and

        provideat least three references to support your discussion.

You arerequired to use APA referencing in this report. Help resources will be providedon Interact2. You should check the CSU Library for the latest version of theAPA Referencing Guide, as this is the one against which your assessment will becompared.

Part B: 1750- 2000 words

In this assessment you are towrite a short report.

You needto select an emergency event and write a short report on this event. In thisreport you need to provide the following:

Introduction: Providea brief overview of the event. (note: this can be a refined version of Part A)

EventAnalysis: Explain why your chosen event occurred. Make use oftechnical and scientific information to support your explanation. Also make useof relevant diagrams, maps or other graphics to support your explanation. 

EventImpact: Identify and discuss the effects that the event had on people,the community, infrastructure and essential services, the environment, and theeconomy.

Command,control, and coordination: Identify and discuss how the command,control, and coordination functions were fulfilled in this event.

Implicationsfor Emergency Management: Identify and discuss one long-term emergency managementimplication of this event for each of the areas of the Emergency ManagementFramework i.e. Prevention/Mitigation, Preparedness, Response, and Recovery.

Conclusion: Provide a concludingparagraph to your report which sums up your report.
