Leaders must be knowledgeable of best practices in all 3 of these areas and must be able to model best practices in their work with faculty and staff.
Interview a principal at a local school district. Be sure to take notes during the interview as you will need them to complete the rest of the assignment. Some questions you might ask include:

After you complete the interview with the principal you selected, rate the principal on each of the 21 principal responsibilities listed for leadership responsibilities. (Hint: You may want to copy these pages and write your notes on them. Alternatively, you could create a Word doc with each category and the rating you selected. You may also create your own system for rating, such as a scale from 1-5. Be sure to explain whatever rating system you choose.)
Write a 700- to 1,050-word reflection on the interview process and findings gathered during the interview. Provide rationale explaining why you rated the principal like you did.
Ensure your assignment addresses the criteria in the grading rubric.
Combine your notes from the interview, principal rating, and reflection.
