leadership paper (Article review)
Leadership Paper (or the title of your paper here bolded)
This section is an introduction to your assignment and according to the rubric and directions, must describe the main points of the chosen article. Remember, you must choose an article from a peer reviewed nursing journal that is published in the last five years, that addresses leadership styles. This should be a nursing journal and not a business journal. It should be a professional, scholarly article and it may be research or informative in nature. To determine if it is peer reviewed, in the library, you can limit the search to peer reviewed journals, or you can google search for whether the journal your article is from is peer reviewed. To summarize the main points, read through the whole article first, noting all of the headings and any major topics. Create a well thought out paragraph or even two about the content of the article. Write about them in third person, scholarly voice, without the use of personal pronouns or first person (I, we, you, they, us). Paragraphs should be no less than 5 sentences long and should start with an introductory sentence, have a number of nice meaty sentences about content and then a summary sentence.
Support of Leadership Style
In this section, you must address what the leadership styles are that the article has described. This should be in more detail than the first paragraph as the first paragraph described the main content of the whole paper, and this one addresses just leadership styles. After describing the styles described in the article and briefly explaining them (using in text citations to support any work that came from the authors), then explain in first person (this is the only place in the paper where first person should be used) whether you support, agree with or use one of the styles described yourself. Please also go on to note why you do or do not agree with, support or practice one of the leadership styles mentioned. Again, at least one paragraph here, with no less than 5-7 sentences in each paragraph.
Application to Nursing Practice
In this section, your job is to address how the material in the article applies in practice. This could mean describing how these leadership styles might be used in the practice of nursing. It could also mean addressing the education needed for content like this for nurse leaders today. You may have examples here of how these styles could be used and by whom in the healthcare facility. Build a nice full paragraph or two here that fully addresses application of the contents of this article to nursing practice today. Because you must use at least one additional source, beyond the article you have chosen, consider bringing a source into this section by tying in the material and citing the work in this section. If you were using information from your course text book, an in-text citation would look like this (Cherry & Jacob, 2018).
Conclusion
Provide at least one paragraph summarizing your entire paper. This is important for any paper you write, though it is not included in the rubric here and points will not be lost if you do not complete this section. When creating a conclusion section, take the important points from each heading of the paper and bring them together here in the summary/conclusion. Create a full 5-7 sentence paragraph or more. Always review your grading rubric prior to completing your work and spell check your work. Remember there is a specific way to save your paper so that it has the correct information as the saved name. It would look like this: NUR204_wk7_assn_firstinitiallastname_08292021. Let your instructor know if you have any questions.
References
Ensure to include all references from all assignments that you have inserted within this paper. Remember that all in-text citations must have a full reference within this reference page. Use hanging indent format for all references and place them in alphabetical order. Your course text is given as an example here in case you use it. Remember you would need at least one in text citations, but cite wherever you use the author’s information. You must add your article and place your references in alphabetical order. Add any other sources you use, remove the course text if you do not use it and remove all of these directions before submitting. References are double spaced with no extra space between.
