Here’s your writing prompt. Think about a person in your life.  Write an essay in which you will describe an event you experienced with that person. It might be a concert, a fancy dining experience, an argument, whatever you want, within the etiquette of a college course, please. You will write a 5-paragraph essay using the senses to tell me about the event with this person. Remember, be descriptive, dig deep. Talk about the setting, sounds, smells, touch of objects in the scene, and so on. Use descriptive language, I repeat. As with all the essays in this class, use third person. You really don’t need to bring yourself into the essay, but if you do, speak in 3rd person point of view. A good descriptive essay will feature the subject of the event you experienced with the other person. In 500 to 750 words, write the descriptive essay. You will write it in 3rd person ("she, him," etc. NOT "I, me, my…" and NEVER "you"). Why? We write scholarly essays in 3rd person. Also, DO NOT SAY, I think or I believe. NEVER end with In conclusion, and the thesis cannot be a question.
