You have one assignment this week – an i-Human case study. For this Case Study Assignment, you will analyze an i-Human simulation case study about an adult patient (Ken Fowler) with a renal/GU condition. Based on the patient’s information, you will formulate a differential diagnosis, evaluate treatment options, and then create an appropriate treatment plan for the patient. Please be sure to review the feedback provided in your grading rubric for your prior i-Human cases to help improve your score.
To prepare:
Review this week’s Learning Resources to help you with this i-Human case.
This is the first week you will be completed your i-Human cases in “Test Mode”. Please practice the Marvin Webster Test Mode case at least once to familiarize yourself with the changes.
Consider how to assess, diagnose, and treat patients with Renal/GU conditions.
Access i-Human from this week’s Learning Resources and complete this week’s i-Human case study on pt. Ken Fowler. Think about the health history you would need to collect from the patient (aim for 25 or less focused questions).
Consider what physical exams and diagnostic tests would be appropriate to gather more information about the patient’s condition. Reflect on how the results would be used to make a diagnosis and guide your management plan. Only order a test if it will change your treatment plan. Be careful not to order unnecessary tests.
Identify three to five possible conditions that may be considered in a differential diagnosis for the patient.
Consider the patient’s diagnosis. Think about clinical guidelines that might support this diagnosis.
Develop a treatment plan for the patient that includes health promotion and patient education strategies for patients with Renal/GU conditions. Please follow the management plan template.
Don’t forget your scholarly references.
