Philosophical Assessment

We all have beliefs about what matters. Sometimes, these beliefs are well thought out and carefully formulated in response to a detailed investigation of the issues. Most often though, our beliefs are unreflective and shallow. This isnt necessarily a bad thing many of us just havent done much digging into the big questions.

Your initial assignment will be a philosophical self-assessment of sorts. Take a look at the syllabus and look at the topics well be covering in this course. In a document, answer each of the questions to the best of your current ability.

Do not do any research the goal is just to lay out your current beliefs at the moment. You will of course be challenged to think deeper as this course goes on. This initial self-assessment will give you a benchmark by which you can measure your philosophical progress later on in the course.

Refer to the table found in page 5 of your textbook. Fill out the survey (20 questions) and report your answers here. If you do not know what some of the terms mean, you can look them up. However, do not do anything more than that!
