Wrap up your thoughts about the class.  Did you enjoy yourself? Did you learn anything? 

I’m interested in your thoughts about the transition from theory to practice – specifically have you noticed anything from the theory portion of the class that is still relevant as we explored the practical?

I’m also interested in how things we learned this semester may be applicable or beneficial for you moving forward into this fall, the coming year, and the rest of your life.

You may also want to talk about the role that yoga plays in society, the influences shaping yoga today, and what the future of yoga might look like (or what you think is SHOULD look like.) How does modern postural yoga fit into the larger context of yoga history generally? How might we address some of the issues in modern postural yoga (colonialism, appropriation, body image, consumerism, etc)?

Remember to explore your thoughts a little. Go deeper than the surface.

Of course, as with all your journals, feel free to riff on whatever you like. Get creative. I’m wasn’t joking when I said you could use poetry. You can do the whole “Dear Diary” thing and talk about me as though I wasn’t reading it. You could also write to me – a letter to your yoga teacher. Or it might take the form of an essay exploring a idea or theme and some research you did on your own. Take a risk with this one and have some fun with it.

Keep in mind, this assignment is worth 10% of your final grade. Don’t rush it. Take your time and develop your thoughts. Make it interesting.
