Evaluate how you feel about technology. Start creating an argument for or against technology (you can have an argument on both sides if you like). Do not use an I voice or You voice (use a third person perspective when creating this discussion/think about writing on behalf of a group: young people; teenagers; children; millenniums; the older generation; students; society; the world.

1. MLA header (last name and page number in 12 point font)
2. MLA heading Double space with:

Your name

Professors name

Class

Correctly formatted date

3. Create your own centered title (The title is what you create; it gives an insight into what the paper will be about. Capitalize the first letter of all major words in the title). Look at the Nuts and Bolts of an Essay in Unit 1 to get ideas.
4. Create to 5-8 sentences on the topic of technology (introduce the topic of technology/pretend you are writing the actual essay that will be due later for Writing Assignment 1). Look at the Nuts and Bolts of an Essay in Unit 1 to get ideas.
5. Create a thesis statement that states what your argument will prove. The thesis is the last sentence of the introduction).  Look at the sample outline for Writing 1 in the D2L shell to get ideas.
6. Create your first topic sentence (The topic sentence starts with a transitional phrase, and states what the whole paragraph will prove). Look at the Nuts and Bolts of an Essay in Unit 1 to get ideas.

1. You attached a Word file
2. You have a 12 point header
3. You have 4 pieces of information for the heading
4. You have a correctly formatted centered title
5. Your introduction has 5-8 sentences. No I or You voice.
6. You have a clear thesis statement that states what the whole essay will argue.
7. You have a topic sentence with a transitional phrase and a sentence that states what the paragraph will prove.
