Editing a college assignment

In this project, you will be working on a safety plan for the Sunrise Ridge community. You will be completing steps covered under the Manage Documents objective domain.

This project covers the following MOS Objectives:

Set up document pages (WD19-1.2.1)

Search for text (WD19-1.1.1)
Link to locations within documents (WD19-1.1.2)
Move to specific locations and objects in documents (WD19-1.1.3)
Apply Style Sets (WD19-1.2.2)
Insert and modify headers and footers (WD19-1.2.3)
Modify basic document properties (WD19-1.3.2)
Configure page background elements (WD19-1.2.4)
Locate and correct accessibility issues (WD19-1.4.2)
Locate and remove hidden properties and personal information (WD19-1.4.1)
Locate and correct compatibility issues (WD19-1.4.3)
Modify print settings (WD19-1.3.3)
Save documents in alternative file formats (WD19-1.3.1)
Share documents electronically (WD19-1.3.4)

Open the start file WD2019-MOS-Ch1 document. If the document opens in Protected View, click the Enable Editing button in the Message Bar at the top of the document so you can modify it.
The file will be renamed automatically to include your name. Change the project file name if directed to do so by your instructor, and save it.
The layout of the document is wrong. Change the orientation of the page to Portrait.
Adjust the margins to the following:
- Top: 1"
- Bottom: 1"
- Left: 1.25"
- Right: 1.25"
There are a number of extra spaces and blank lines in the document. Turn on formatting marks and then remove the extra spaces at the end of the headings in the document and delete the extra blank lines on the second page. Turn off formatting marks when you are done.
Find text and add a hyperlink to another place in the document.
- Find the phrase Our Safety Vision.
- Place the cursor at the end of the second sentence in the first paragraph of the Our Safety Vision section. Be sure to place the cursor after the period and press the spacebar one time.
- Add a hyperlink to the Round the Clock Officers section of the document. Have text for the link read (View the list of security officers)
Test the hyperlink by pressing Ctrl and clicking the text. Use the Go To command to return to Page 1 of the document. Place the cursor in the Introduction heading
Change the style set to Lines (Simple).
Verify the cursor is still in the Introduction heading and add a footer to the document using the Retrospect format.
Add a header using the Integral format. Close Header/Footer view when you are done.
Navigate to the cover page for the document. Notice the author name does not appear on the cover page. Change the author property for the document making Sylvester Bryant the author. Notice the field is now populated correctly.
Change the background color of the document to White, Background 1, Darker 5%. It is the first color in the second row under Theme Colors.
Inspect the document for an Ink drawings and remove any that are found.
Check for accessibility issues in the document. For the error that appears, change the object to be marked as decorative and not require alt text.
Check for compatibility with previous versions of Microsoft Word.
Print pages 2-4 of the document. NOTE: If you are using this in class or in your school’s computer lab, check with your instructor about printing permissions before completing this step.
If directed to by your instructor, save the document as a template and submit the file to your instructor for separate grading.
If directed to do so, share the document with your instructor on OneDrive for separate grading.
Save and close the document.
