Neurotransmitters is a chemical reaction that acts like a messenger from a neuron across the synapse to another neuron, a muscle cell, or a gland cell. There are different kinds of neurotransmitters. There is dopamine which consist of amino acids tyrosine and phenylalanine. This is the feel good chemical reaction that helps us find enjoyment. It can help captivate our interest and stay focused. Serotonin is another neurotransmitter that is made up of the essential amino acid tryptophan. We often hear of tryptophan affect around Thanksgiving. When there is a deficiency of serotonin there can be side affect such as depression and anxiety. We derive serotonin through consumption. Although it is neurotransmitter ninety percent of it is produced in the digestive tract.
Another One of them is made up of choline and acetic acid hence it’s given name acetylcholine. The function of acetylcholine is in the process of enzymatic deactivation. Acetylcholine contain peptide molecules. It is responsible for the messages sent from the end of muscle fibers. Myasthenia gravis is a disease in which the immune system destroys acetylcholine receptors. Because of this it can cause muscle weakness.
