Assignment: Modes of Persuasion

Please view the video entitled: Dove Real Beauty Sketches.  After reviewing the video,  explore the areas of Ethos, Pathos, and Logos within the commercial. Analyze how each was used within the commercial.  Select three (3) scenes: one for Ethos, one for Pathos, and one for Logos.  Cite evidence from the commercial that fits your choice (e.g.: In scene_______, Ethos was the primary mode of persuasion.  Ethos is exemplified by _______).   Write a brief summary of your findings. Again, below is a brief description of Ethos, Pathos, and Logos: 

Modes of Persuasion—there are three ways to convince a person:

1. Emotional (pathos)—we see emotional arguments with animal shelters and child abuse
2. Logical (logos)—we see logical arguments when it comes to health and safety
3. Ethical (ethos)—we see ethical arguments when it comes to making good choices
