Choose an organization you will analyze from a conflict. The closer you are to the organization,
the more effective the application of the conflict analysis model. The purpose of the paper is to
provide the reader with complete picture of your analysis of a conflict that results in the action
plan you design. Students will design a systemic action plan to address every issue identified and
explored through the conflict analysis. The systemic plan of action will identify each specific
issue and emphasize the implementation of the appropriate interventions and/or solutions to
resolve the identified issue.
The paper parameters include:
Maximum Paper Length: 8-10 double spaced pages (maximum), exclusive of the
title page, table of contents, appendices, and references.
Scholarly quality that displays doctoral level depth and breadth.
Clearly and thoroughly define and identify appropriate issues and relevant
interventions in a systemic perspective.
Clearly demonstrate your ability to apply the concepts, strategies, and theories
learned through course readings and class discussions.
APA 7 format: Analysis narrative, title page, table of contents, appendices and
references
Students will format the action plan using the action plan table template at the end of the
assignment directions. The table will visually present the interventions and solutions in a clear,
coherent, and concise manner. The table will describe each identified issue and align the
following components with each issue:
The specific and relevant strategies/actions (negotiation, facilitation problem
solving groups, training, mediation, or other interventions)
A realistic and doable timetable for each identified issue and its action(s)
The responsible party or parties who will carry out the interventions and
solutions,
Measurable outcomes (financial, patient care, and/or satisfaction).
o The outcome needs to be specific regarding the expected progress
expected, for example, % achievement to be gained by the intervention.
o Outcomes MUST be relevant, measurable, and doable.
o Measurability requires change defined
From what measure to what measure?
Timeframe for achievement, for example, productivity will
increase from 85% to 95% by September 2021.
The action plan should reflect integration of material covered throughout the institute classes and
the online component of the course to present an in-depth exploration and action plan that
addresses the issues facing the organization. The purpose of the action plan is to bring together
what you have learned in class, your health care expertise, and issues identified that are
amenable to change. The expectation of the action plan is the incorporation of concepts
presented throughout the semester, including the models for conflict assessment. Students should
incorporate the visual representation of the information through charts and diagrams to simplify and
enhance the presentation of conflict analysis and intervention actions in an efficient manner.
Students must demonstrate critical thinking and assessment of process implications and
applications in the action plan. Students will integrate course readings, course concepts, and
relevant references into the analysis narrative using the correct APA 7 citation format. Students will
also incorporate supplemental references external to the course readings that provide support for
the recommended actions.

III. Introduction Two Pages
a. Provide an overview of the identified organization including its purpose, history,
mission, vision, culture, and demographics (community, personnel, and patients).
b. Describe and discuss the organizations value. Elaborate on the ways in which
these values are embedded in the actions, policies, vision, and mission of the
organization.
c. Identify an organizational conflict (issue, problem) that limits organizational
outcomes and is amenable to change.
IV. Conflict Analysis Four to Five Pages
a. Identify the conflict model that is most relevant to support your analysis of the chosen
organization. The model should enable you to explore all issues and root causes of the
conflict. Justify the use of the model selected and suggest an alternative model.
b. Clearly present the model using visuals to portray the components within the
model.
c. List factors that contribute to this organizational conflict from a systemic
perspective. Include internal and external issues, structural and relationship
issues, and macro and micro issues.
d. Discuss concepts, strategies, and theories that support your analysis of the
the situation with citations.
e. Create a clear and concise outcome statement. The outcome should be financial,
clinical, and/or satisfaction, and describe the so what of the problem (how that
the issue impacts the organization from the three defined outcome areas).
f. Explore the processes currently in place by organizations to address issues
identified.
V. Action Plan – Two to Three Pages
Students will utilize the action plan table below, to visually present the Interventions
and solutions in a clear, coherent, and concise manner. The table will describe each
identified issue and align the following components with each issue: the specific and
