Write a literary paper after a second close reading of Canto XXXIV (34) in which you discuss why Dante would view Brutus and Cassius (who murdered Julius Caesar) and Judas Iscariot (who betrayed Jesus Christ) as the worst of sinners. Be sure to use quotes from the text to support your argument.

The assignment should be supported by the literature (citations from the literature). The paper should be three (3) pages in length with an introduction and a conclusion. PLEASE REFERENCE ONE OUTSIDE LITERARY CRITIC. SEE “STEPS TO FINDING SCHOLARLY CRITICAL ESSAYS.”

*Your focus is LITERARY ANALYSIS.  You are not writing about gender in general or making generalizations about time periods. You need to engage in literary analysis of the texts specifically.*

Do not call the assignment by the name of the text under discussion–for example, do not title your paper “Frankenstein.” The paper should have a clear thesis supported by the literature (at least two citations from the literature). The paper should be three pages in length, with an introduction–opening paragraphs with a thesis statement (including author and title of text), body paragraphs with properly cited quotes using standard MLA-style documentation, and a clear conclusion. 

Plagiarism results in an “F” on the paper. The second instance of plagiarism results in automatic failure of the course.
