Your project is as follows:

Imagine that youre able to travel backward in time, to the19th and 20th centuries. Youll be visiting artists in their studios and willbe witnessing them creating paintings and sculptures.

Youll be collecting information on five different styles ofyour choosing from these time periods, as represented by one artist from eachstyle.

Chooseone style from each of the categories listed:

1.      Late Nineteenth Century: Impressionism or PostImpressionism

2.      Early Twentieth Century: Fauvism, Expressionism,or Futurism

3.      Cubism: Analytic or Synthetic

4.      Post-World War I Art: Dada or Surrealism

5.      Post-World War II Art: Abstract Expressionism,Minimalism, or Pop Art

 For each style youvechosen, select one artist whose work is typical. Talk about one work ofart that best exemplifies that particular artists style (for instance, aCubist painting from Picasso).

 Create a reportfor each of your chosen artworks, including the following:

1.      A photo of the object

2.      Identifying information:

3.      Artist

4.      Title

5.      Date

6.      Medium/materials

7.      Identify the style of the piece.

A paragraph of 4-6 sentences in which you:

Describe the piece: how is it typical of its style?

Talk about the pieces societal and historicalsignificance (what was happening in the time period in which it was made)? Whyis this piece important, in the scope of art history?

A paragraph of 6-8 sentences, in which you summarizewhat youve learned. How are these art styles and particular pieces similar anddifferent? What style are you most partial to, and why?

Cite all resources in APA format, even if youve only usedyour book.
