The Human Resource Management Expert Practitioner

Task:   Discuss the role of the HR managers in achieving superior organisational performance. Use examples to support your points.

 Within your response, it is important that you 1) draw upon the Topic 1 content; 2) give a clear rationale for your views; 3) cite at least six relevant academic sources, including three peer-reviewed academic journal articles. Relevant academic sources: academic journal articles and reliable internet sites (e.g. government sources).

Purpose:   This assignment seeks to reinforce the Learning Outcomes associated with Topic 1; i.e., Introduction and context for Human Resource Management (HRM).  

Format:     Your assignment paper should be in the form of a single word document (i.e. doc. or docx). Pdf documents will not be accepted. Note that an assignment Coversheet is not required.

Submitting:   Ensure that the assignment document has been saved in your name (e.g. Silvia  Nelson.docx). All assignments are to be submitted through Turnitin, which can be accessed from the Assignment 1 folder in Blackboard. You can submit the assignment multiple times up until the due date.

Feedback: Students who submit their assignment by the due date will receive feedback within two weeks. This feedback will be in the form of a marking rubric and a copy of your report with electronic comments from the marker.

Tips:(1) Review the marking rubric carefully (available in the Assignment 1 folder in Blackboard) and be very concise with your writing.

(2) Staying under the max word count will be a challenge. This restriction aims to encourage concise writing, which is a feature of strong academic work. There is no penalty for exceeding the word limit, but students should avoid writing more than 880 words. 

(3) Headings are generally not required in an academic essay. If you choose to use them, ensure they complement the structure of your discussion. 

(4) Executive Summary and Table of Contents should not be included in an academic essay.

(5) Assignments that have been previously submitted are not to be recycled, in whole or part this is considered to be academic misconduct.
