For this assignment, you will be writing a Reflective Essay in which you situate yourself in relation to larger social structures and structural issues of relative power and privilege. In addition to Critically Reflecting Particular social structural location, you will examine How Your Understanding of Ethics, Power, And Justice will influence your work as a criminal justice professional. This entails being Reflexive (being conscious, knowledgeable, critical, and curious) about your life, your social world, and your understandings of justice, criminal justice systems and practices.
ALL ESSAYS MUST CLEARLY AND THOROUGHLY ADDRESS THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS:
I) Which social identities or social locations are most relevant/salient for you (think about race, class, gender, sexuality, ability, nationality, language, etc.)?
How do you see yourself in relation to socio-cultural dynamics of power, privilege, and disadvantage in regards to these social identities and locations?
Why is your social structural location important for your work as a criminal justice professional?
II) What is your current understanding of a just society?
