I need to write a reading reflection on the five pdf articles. Please also make sure to relate to the theories listed in the slides. One pdf document is the requirement and a docx is an example about what the essay should look like.
Notes from the teacher:
Uplift Main concept of the reading – read closely, take notes during lecture, expand your ideas (don’t just repeat my slides…)
o Read and think through the concepts.
• Don’t bring up points just to mention – be sure to explore
• Don’t use jargon for the sake of it – be clear in what point you’re trying to convey
• Grammarly
• Summary vs. analysis… how/why, what does it mean why does it matter, what’s the significance, apply to a particular main point/question
• Organized analysis!! What’s the running analysis throughout – habitus, production of inequality, how identity and social inequality go hand in hand
o Master category – OW, class (L&Engels), gender (WZ), intersectionality as a comparison
o Identity/Ineq. Co-production: race as master category or matrix of interrelated structures (OW, Crenshaw), Class in terms of resources (Engels, L), Gender/race in terms of role theory/performances (Anderson, WZ). How it all comes together to coproduce unequal systems, how we are a part of reproducing that, what that might say about our habitus.
