Presentation: Global Nature of the Aviation Industry
As a global industry, aviation encompasses many different stakeholders. Oftentimes, international collaboration is needed to accomplish industry-wide goals. For example, in 1944, the Convention on International Civil Aviation, also known as the Chicago Convention, established the core principles for international air travel and ultimately led with the formation of ICAO or the International Civil Aviation Organization. This agreement allowed for uniformity in civil aviation regulations, standards, and procedures. In this activity, we are addressing Learning Outcomes 2 and 3: identify the major tenets of international air travel conventions and treaties and their contributions to commercial aviation, and understand the role of the U.S. aviation industry in global aviation. As the industry grows and evolves, updates to existing agreements are needed as well as the formation of new agreements. Consider agreements or treaties that exist in your segment of the industry and the resulting impact.
This week we are exploring the global nature of the aviation industry. As we have seen, international collaboration plays a pivotal role in the economic growth and overall success of this increasingly global industry. For this assignment, you will create a presentation on an international agreement, explaining how it has impacted the industry. Your presentation must include a minimum of five slides but no more than eight, not including the title slide or reference slide. It must have embedded audio and include speaker notes.
Keep in mind that as a minimum your presentation must:
- Identify an international agreement between the United States and another country.
- Analyze the impact of the agreement on the global aviation industry.
- Determine if updates to the agreement will be needed in the future.
