Formal and Informal Leadership in the Fire Service
Overview
The purpose of this paper is to analyze and discuss the impact of both formal and informal leaders within the fire services. Students will provide an in-depth analysis and discussion of the skills, qualities, and traits necessary in formal and informal fire service leaders. Additionally, the paper should compare and contrast the roles of formal and informal fire service leadership.
Instructions
· The paper must be completed in current APA formatting and consist of at least 1,500 words (excluding all title, abstract and reference pages).

· In addition to the course text, all papers must utilize at least 4 outside scholarly sources (not provided in the course) that were published in the last 10 years to support the analysis. Please follow this link for an explanation of scholarly research articles:
· All papers must be completed through the lens of a Biblical Worldview where students will incorporate appropriate biblical passages and/or resources.
The paper should include (at a minimum) four sections:
1. Introduction: Provide a brief introduction about the key elements in the paper.
2. Effective Leadership Qualities:
· Research must be conducted to provide an in-depth analysis and discussion of the skills, qualities, and traits needed in both formal and informal leadership within the fire services.

· Provide and in-depth examination and discussion of the role of formal leadership within the fire service.
· Provide and in-depth discussion of the role of informal leadership within the fire service.
· Discuss issues or challenges that may occur between formal and informal leadership.
· Scholar sources should be used to support your analysis
- Conclusion: Summarize your findings and explain why your findings are important in relation to fire service leadership.
