After reading your chapter material and lesson content reflect on the system that is covered in the Module. Focus on the disease and disorders listed in the chapter. Pick one that is the most interesting to you then complete the following:

Note- Be sure your topic is connected with the body system you are focusing on in that module

• List the Disorder or Disease
• List the name of the specialist for the disease
• Explain what body system is involved- include all systems that may be effects if left untreated.
• Explain what the disease is in your own words- 3-5 sentences.
• Explain what classifications of medications are commonly used as treatment or cure.
• Pick 1-2 medications for each classification listed above. List the Trade and generic name along with 2 side effects that are common to this medication.
• Define and explain any patient teaching you would include in your discharge teaching.
• This section is very important to your patient. As a Medical Assistant you will do a great deal of patient education. Cover tips on when to take these medications and any food restrictions that may apply. Find teaching information on the condition such as statics, common facts, and tips for remission or cure if possible.
